Do you need to fix struts and plate on car ASAP?

My 99 Plymouth Neon's rear strut on left is leaking and the strut plate is broken. I don't do a lot of driving. I get a bump in the tail when I hit a pot hole. Nothing major. It's still operational. I found out about this today. I think my car has been doing this for months. Can I put this off for a few weeks getting the struts fixed? Again, 30 miles per hour in the city. I only drive like 1-2 miles here and there. What's the worst that could happen?
