Replace rear struts with ready mount struts...diy?

i have an 04 grand prix gtp, have a horrible clunking on rear driver side while on gravel or rough road, i was going to purchase ready mount struts, curios if this is something i can do, any tools i might need and maybe a briefing on how to do it
