Which car should i get, Ford or Acura?

I'm 16 and looking for a car! My parents are going to buy me pretty much whatever I want. I either want a 2008 ford escape or a 2006 Acura tsx. I like SUVs but I heard ford isn't good or something? But my neighbor has had problems with her Acura tsx! Gas mileage is pretty close too between the cars. Which has more problems? Because I don't want a car that has to go to the shop often!
