Slotting struts or Camber Bolt to save suspension?

Today i took my 04 Taurus so get a 4 wheel alignment. After a couple hours I get a call and they told me that the suspension on my car (struts) have been worn down and compressed from years of use. They said they could replace them (costly) or slot the struts and they mentions something about camber bolts? I have no idea what this means, can anyone help me? thanks
