My car makes a popping sound when i turn the steering wheel?

I've got a 1989 oldsmobile regency 98 given to me by my grandpa. And whenever I turn the steering wheel it makes a loud clicking or popping sound it only does it in a certain spot when i turn the wheel. Kinda like a clunkclunk sound haha. I was told either the ball joint or Struts what do you think?
